Pastoral care

Pastoral care at UC Temuco contributes to the Church’s mission in the field of evangelism. It serves as a meeting space in which to grow, be welcomed into the fraternity, share the values of our faith, offer our services – particularly to those who need it the most – and encourage a dialogue between faith and reason, faith and culture, and faith and science.

The work it carries out for the university community is accomplished by means of many services, among which are: Sacramental catechesis, voluntary work, Eucharistic celebration (mass), sacrament of reconciliation (confession), spiritual guidance, and more.

    STUDENT MOBILITY PROGRAMME

STUDENT MOBILITY PROGRAMME

This program promotes academic activities in other universities in Chile and around the world. It comprises agreements with higher education institutions in Chile and abroad, as well as the negotiation of grants from institutions with an arrangement with our university. It aids and facilitates the application process for academic programs in other institutions as well as for financial benefits, and provides support during the time spent away from UC Temuco.

    VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME

VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME

The Volunteering Programme offers students the opportunity to strengthen their core development during their time at UC Temuco. They can devote their free time to activities which provide them with a greater understanding of social realities through participation and demonstration of their creative potential in the context of excluded or vulnerable groups. As such, the Volunteering Programme offers five working areas: Children (remedial classes, value-building workshops, visits to children’s homes, recreational activities). Women (personal development workshops, support with entering into employment). Youth (workshops with young people registered with SENAME (child services), CESFAM (family health centres) or who are at risk socially. People who are unwell (care of and companionship for hospital patients). The elderly (care and support for the elderly in homes or family health centres).

    HEALTHY STUDENT PROGRAMME

HEALTHY STUDENT PROGRAMME

The aim of this programme is to support a healthy student life in a way that is compatible with study and other academic activities. Participation in this programme is free of charge and all UC Temuco students can take advantage of it (provided they are up to date with fee payments). We have a multidisciplinary team who covers many areas, such as general medicine, kinesiology, nutrition and nursing. Students also have access to a psychiatrist and a psychologist.

GRADUATE EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAMME

The aim of this programme is to improve those competencies which promote prompt and effective entry into the employment market, strengthening the student’s ability to succeed in the professional world. Information, advice and ongoing training are all freely available. Exclusive access is available to a student and professional job site via the Portal de Empleo UC Temuco (UC Temuco Employment Portal), offering part time employment opportunities and help looking for work. Guidance is also offered for CV creation, employment interviews, job hunting and tax registry.

SPORT AND RECREATION PROGRAMME

Sport and recreation are fundamental parts of a well-rounded professional development. This UC Temuco programme brings the university community together by means of a calendar of sporting and recreational events. In order to promote healthy lifestyles, the team involved in this programme lead recreational and healthy living activities. This goes alongside the training of sports teams and of prominent sporting individuals.
